Mind the Gap
Opening Reception: Friday, September 12, 2008 at 5:30 - 8:30 p.m.
Artists speak at 6:00 p.m.
Location: Gallery of Contemporary, UCCS
The artists in Mind the Gap call attention to negative space - the areas around intended focus. These artists deal with pauses in dialogue rather than the words spoken, small aberrations in architecture rather than the building’s looming facade, or a decrepit vacant lot rather than the complete and occupied store next door. By pointing out what is typically unnoticed, we are encouraged to re-examine our world and look around the obvious. Participating artists include Jared Lindsay Clark, Jennifer Danos, e-Xplo, John Pilson, Sarah Ross, and Doron Solomons.

The decision was not easy. Despite the fantastic opportunities that SPACES offers, I will miss the art community of Colorado Springs.
